About Us

Living Water is Yale's premier and only Christian a cappella group. Founded in 1979, Living Water at Yale exists to spread the Gospel, the good news of God's love and desire for relationship with all of humankind fulfilled through Jesus Christ. As a group, we spread the Gospel by sharing our testimonies of God's faithfulness, singing music that tells His story, glorifying Him through our craft, and reflecting His love and truth in our service toward Yale, New Haven, our respective home communities, and each other.

SPRING TOUR: Each spring, tour gives Living Water the opportunity to visit one of our droplet’s hometowns, allowing us to learn about and experience the community that helped shape them. Some of our past locations include Miami, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Atlanta, and China. Throughout tour, we grow closer as a group, participate in opportunities to serve the community, and share the love of Christ through our performances and conversations. Tour is a special time of fellowship, worship, and ministry as we seek to glorify God, encourage others, and spread the Gospel wherever we go.

BREAK-IT-DOWN: Each year in the spring semester, Living Water gets the opportunity to perform and participate in a Christian A Cappella Conference called “Break-It-Down.” This is a conference in which different Christian A Cappella groups from colleges across the country come together to perform music for the shared purpose of glorifying God! Previous conference locations have included Pittsburgh and Boston. At these conferences, we are paired with another A Cappella group to go busking around the city, giving us the opportunity to share in fellowship, encourage one another, and build connections with fellow believers who share a passion for worship through music. Break-It-Down is always a memorable experience that strengthens our community while reminding us that allows us as a group to grow both musically and spiritually.
